First Insanity workout in months

I have not attempted Insanity since August -four whole months ago -and I didn’t even get through it that time, and the time before I didn’t lose any weight, inches, blah, blah, blah.

HOW?!

I have never felt MORE worked-out than I do right now. I just finished Plyometric Cardio Circuit, and I feel like… well… exhausted and pumped and energetic and tired. It is a very weird feeling, and I’m not a fan. I would just like to feel that I’ve accomplished something in the workout today, which went not great.

The first 10 or so minutes of Plyo is the warm-up, which we all know is very important and should never be skipped. However, in Insanity’s warm-ups, you work so hard that the after stretching, you feel like taking a nap. Warm-ups include three sets of different intervals of the same four or five exercises: beginner, intermediate, advanced -sort of like that.

I never save anything for after the warm-up because Shaun T. is always, “Push. Push. Work. Harder. Look at my face.” It is really hard NOT to push, push, work harder and look at him when he says it, so I do, which is not too bad as long as you have the endurance to get you through thirty more minutes of exercise.

I don’t.

During the first set of three during the actual workout, I did a pretty good job. Not going to lie -my power squats didn’t have a whole lot of power and my speed drills were pretty slow, but I tried.

Second set of three is when my downfall occurred with some death, a lot of pain and cramping through each move. Basketball drills had no basketball. Level One drills had no push-ups and any and all ab movement ended in me collapsing on the floor in a pool of my own sweat. Yay.

I did, however, finish out the jabs, cross jacks, upper cuts and attacks, which I’m proud of because I usually cannot last long enough to put any energy in them.  Then, I stretched, and it was good.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t supposed to do Plyo today. I know, right? I was supposed to do the Fit Test today, which is almost like a workout in itself, but not as long nor as difficult. I suppose I will do the Fit Test tomorrow and post my results.

Sorry for so many Insanity posts! To make up for it, here is an embarrassing picture of me dying. Of course, no one was around to snap the picture of me collapsed on the floor, but imagine it. I was down for the count.
