Special counsel Robert Mueller on Friday submitted the final report from his almost two-year investigation into President Donald Trump and his campaign's potential dealings with Russian Federation to Attorney General William Barr, according to NBC News.

The contents of Mueller's report were not immediately made public, but Barr said in a letter to members of Congress that he was "committed to as much transparency as possible".

Earlier this month, the House voted unanimously for a non-binding resolution to make the report's findings public. Democrats also want all of Mueller's evidence, including interview transcripts and documents.

Trump has denied collusion and obstruction.

"Attorney General Barr-release the Mueller report to the American public".

The Russia investigation has cast a shadow over Mr Trump's presidency and ensnared key figures including his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former personal lawyer Michael Cohen and national security adviser Michael Flynn, who already have either been convicted or pleaded guilty to charges brought by Mr Mueller. To Trump's opponents, on the other hand, it has been merely justice at work, a necessary effort to determine whether an unfit and undeserving candidate (or those who reported to him) colluded with another country to seize control of the most powerful job in the world.

USA intelligence agencies have concluded that Moscow meddled in the election with a campaign of email hacking and online propaganda aimed at sowing discord in the United States, hurting Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and helping Mr Trump.

Trump has been investigated for nearly two years, following suspicions that he or his team had improper ties to Moscow. But that aside, it's simply absurd to read much into Trump's stated desire for the report to be released.

Special counsel Robert Mueller is not recommending any further indictments in his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to multiple news outlets. "I am reviewing the report", Barr said in the letter, "and anticipate that I may be in a position to advise you of the special counsel's principal conclusions as soon as this weekend". And many speculate that the findings can potentially be just as damaging for Trump.

The White House said Friday afternoon that that while they had been informed of the report's submission, they had not seen it. In addition, Rosenstein didn't appoint Mueller to write a report - that's simply the ordinary course of action laid out in the special counsel regulations.

"I think that [the Mueller report] certainly is not the end-all, be-all for legal problems and ethics problems for the president", Noah Bookbinder, executive director at the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, told Newsweek. "The need for public faith in the rule of law must be the priority".

"Attorney General Barr must release the full report to the public", Klobuchar tweeted.

The meeting itself became part of Mueller's investigation, entangling Donald Trump Jr.in the probe. And Trump and his advisers are considering how to weaponize those possible findings for the 2020 race, painting the probe as a failed coup while railing against investigations launched by House Democrats.

Michael Cohen, Trump's former attorney and fixer, was sentenced in December to three years in prison after pleading guilty to federal campaign finance violations, including over "hush money" payments to two women who said they had sexual encounters with Trump.
