Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was on fire last night as his brace in Arsenal's 3-0 victory over Rennes, helped Gunners reach the UEFA Europa League quarter finals.

Arsenal needed a fast start and they got one, opening the scoring in the fifth minute when Maitland-Niles and Aaron Ramsey combined down the right channel to tee up Aubameyang for a simple close-range finish.

Petr Cech believes the relentless competitiveness of the Premier League is the reason for the dominance of English teams in Europe this season as his Arsenal side prepare to face Napoli in the quarter-finals of the Europa League next month.

"This comeback was very hard, but I think the reaction was very good from every player", Emery told reporters.

It's hardly surprising that Emery has maintained the shape that was fruitful against Manchester United as Arsenal require goals tonight against Rennes.

It is not just the fate of the UEFA Champions League clubs that was decided in Nyon, but also that of the UEFA Europa League 2018-19 club who found out their opponents for the quarterfinals of the competition. "A hard week for us, but we showed good character and determination to reach the #UEL quarters!"

Europa League remains an excellent route for Arsenal to get back into the Champions League, and with there being no clear-cut favourite at the moment, Unai Emery will be hoping that his past successes give his side the upper-hand as the tournament moves forward.

With sides such as Inter and Sevilla out of the competition, Arsenal are being considered one of the favourites to go all the way and win the competition.

He also took note of surprising results elsewhere.

"Having said that, Arsenal are a great team and it'll be a very hard task for Napoli to get past them into the next round".

Despite going up 2 goals early, the match was never truly secure for Arsenal, who are always prone to defensive mistakes. We are more intelligent, we are more measured in our plans.

Juventus Complete Comeback Thanks To Cristiano Ronaldo
Massimiliano Allegri's side, unbeaten in their domestic league this season, are now 18 points clear at the top of the table. "It was meant to be a special night and it was, not just for my goals but for the attitude we showed", said Ronaldo.
