New York Attorney General Letitia James, an outspoken critic of Trump, promised during her campaign a year ago to investigate the president's business dealings.

President Donald Trump blasted the state of NY and Governor Andrew Cuomo as the latest "PRESIDENTIAL HARASSERS" earlier tonight.

Investigators also requested records connected to an unsuccessful effort to buy the Bills, the person said.

This appears to be a reference to the recent news that the NY attorney general's office has issued subpoenas to two banks regarding multiple projects pursued by the Trump Organization.

The documents sought would cover loan applications, mortgages, and lines of credit for Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., Trump National Doral near Miami; and Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago.

Investors Bank was subpoenaed for records relating to Trump Park Avenue, a project it had backed, the Times reported.

Michael Cohen told Congress that Donald Trump inflated his assets to improve his odds of buying the National Football League's Buffalo Bills, a gambit that eventually failed.

On Tuesday, James lobbied lawmakers in Albany to loosen double-jeopardy laws that prohibit state prosecutors from bringing similar charges against individuals pardoned from federal charges.

James and Cuomo are Democrats.

It also adds to Trump's own legal pressure.

Deutsche Bank has been one of the few major banks willing to regularly lend to Trump, whose past financial troubles scared off large NY banks.
