It looks like Danny Amendola is heading to the Motor City. Flowers' move leaves Brian Flores and the reformed Dolphins empty-handed.

In reacting to the Flower news, NBC's Peter King proposed a new rule that the National Football League might have no other choice but to incorporate in wake of recent events.

First reported by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Lions intend to sign free agent defensive end Trey Flowers.

Per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the team is closing in on a deal with former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Justin Coleman. According to The Athletic's Connor Hughes, Flowers shortened his list to the Lions and Dolphins before ultimately choosing Detroit.

Flowers was the big catch, though, racking up two playoff sacks for the Super Bowl champs, who elected not to use the franchise tag on the 25-year-old.

Trump to visit Alabama areas devastated by weekend tornadoes
Two houses down, 63-year-old Raymond Robinson Jr. and his wife Tresia were killed when the tornado leveled their home. The president is now on the ground in Beauregard, Alabama , meeting with families effected by the tornado.

Coleman does have familiarity with Lions coach Matt Patricia.

The deal is reportedly for five years and worth more than $16-$17 million annually.

Past year he recorded 7.5 sacks, plus three forced fumbles, both career highs. Harris is a second-year player on the team's practice squad.

These deals aren't official, of course, as free agency doesn't open until Wednesday at 4 p.m., but the agreements have been put in place at the dawn of the legal tampering period.
