Brie Larson stunned Captain Marvel fans by showing up to a number of screenings of the film during its opening weekend.

It did that and then some.

As of Friday in the USA, the film had already earned a total of $188.3 million worldwide, with a hefty $127 million chunk of that coming from the global box office, which includes $34.3 million from China and $4.5 million from here in Australia.

It's also earned another pretty wonderful honor: becoming the biggest opening weekend box office earnings ever for a female-fronted film. The only movie with a female lead that's opened better globally was "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", which grossed $529 million when it debuted in 2015.

Brie Larson-led Captain Marvel witnessed a limited growth on the second day of its release. I think you see that in their box office.

After years of waiting, Captain Marvel finally crashed into theatres last week.

The ship is also equipped with medical quarters and a helicopter pad so that, when crew is involved, it's ready for emergencies. Instead, it carried a sensor-laden test dummy named Ripley - named for Sigourney Weaver's character in the Aliens films.

Rising trade deficit no cause for worry
In brief, what's going on with the USA trade deficit is mainly a result of macroeconomics, not trade policy. Today, the USA economy is healthy, with economic growth relatively robust.

"As the first female-fronted superhero film, it's ideal timing for Captain Marvel to be released on International Women's Day". The opening marks the third-biggest ever for the month of March and the seventh-biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of all time.

Captain Marvel is now in cinemas.

But, as with pretty much every Marvel movie these days, it also has a whole bunch of Easter Eggs, references and wider allusions to the Marvel canon.

Captain Marvel is now playing in theaters! If you didn't see the movie over the weekend, but plan to do so in the near future, you're best off skipping this video until after you've seen it. Males accounted for 55 percent of audiences, while 74 percent of moviegoers were over the age of 25. DC's "Birds of Prey" and "Wonder Woman 1984" are scheduled to arrive next year. Disney positioned "Captain Marvel" to be a key link between "Avengers: Infinity War" and its follow-up, "Avengers: Endgame", the epic conclusion that arrives in theaters this summer.

"Captain Marvel" scared away any new wide releases.
