He claimed the allegations of abuse against him are hurting his ability to support his family.

The singer's recent legal troubles have highlighted the fact that his finances are now "a mess", and he even claimed in a recent CBS interview that someone had been stealing from his bank accounts. Kelly, who has been charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse, was jailed this week in Chicago for failing to pay child support.

He has pleaded not guilty and denies any wrongdoing.

The interview aired over two parts on CBS This Morning and was later presented Friday night as "The Gayle King Interview with R. Kelly".

"Look, I made a lot of mistakes in my life".

Eventually, Thompson evoked Kelly's stand-up outburst of indignation, crowing, "I gave y'all "Trapped in the Closet, ' "Feelin" on Yo Booty, ' "Age Ain't Nothin" But a Number" ... and so many other clues!" "I also think he has some explaining to do".

Perhaps the best joke, though, comes at the end when SNL's Kelly attempts to yell the iconic, "Live from NY, it's Saturday Night!"

"How do we say this without being inappropriate?"

King talked to longtime BFF Oprah Winfrey's magazine about the experience and said she was not afraid.

Tim Savage told King he never brought his daughter to meet R. Kelly and never met the singer in person.

The singer, 52, has denied all allegations of any wrongdoing, and the women, Azriel Clary, 21, and Joycelyn Savage, 23, defended him during the interview.

King added: "So it became very troubling to me to see him, really, just fall apart. I put on my trousers one sleeve at a time, just like everybody else".

Kelly denied accusations that he was controlling by clarifying that he is only in control of his household. What time is the R. Kelly interview special?

"So I emailed Dana, who I don't know, I got her email and I said, 'Hi, I just wanted to thank you for letting your colleague know that Robin Roberts and I - it was a great compliment, but thank you for letting him know that we're two different people, '" King recalled to Colbert.

Joycelyn Savage also cast blame on her parents in the CBS interview.

We learn that some of the so-called evidence in these new charges against Kelly are related to the same young woman who was alleged to be featured in the original video and trial.
