AAF Opens With Strong Ratings In Debut Saturday

The Alliance of American Football (AAF) kicked off its first-ever season on Saturday with two games of action. Any remaining players - those from unaffiliated universities and never signed to an National Football League or CFL team - are considered free agents.

Throughout the rosters, football fans will note dozens of players that they might remember from the NFL field years ago, or even this past season. It was founded by film and television producer Charlie Ebersol and former National Football League front-office executive Bill Polian.

Two of the league's first games aired on CBS and were up against the Rockets and Thunder matchup on ABC.

The AAF has a flawless example of how not to conduct a sub-NFL football league in the XFL. Having only rushed for 100 yards three times in 46 games, Richardson was released by the Colts and could not stick with the Oakland Raiders or Baltimore Ravens either.
