Justin Fairfax, Trinity '00 and lieutenant governor of Virginia, now faces a second allegation of sexual assault.

"With 114 editions of The Bomb available online dating back to 1885, I am not surprised that those wanting to engulf Republican leaders in the current situations involving the governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general would highlight the yearbook from my graduation a half century ago", Norment said.

"The allegations against Justin Fairfax are serious and credible", former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe tweeted Friday.

However, Boothe said that with a second allegation against Fairfax, he may be "the most inclined to step down".

"I felt a responsibility to myself, the beloved students I teach, and the courageous women I've tried to help overcome their own trauma", she wrote.

In a separate statement responding to the latest allegation against him, Fairfax said he has "never forced myself on anyone ever" and demanded a "full investigation into these unsubstantiated and false allegations".

Democrats have until now focused their resignation calls on Governor Ralph Northam.

"I will clear my good name and I have nothing to hide", he wrote, branding the allegations as part of a "vicious and coordinated smear campaign. being orchestrated against me". "If I reach a point where I am not comfortable with that, then obviously we will sit down and have that discussion". Meredith Watson's statement describes another extremely disturbing incident, which lends further credence to Dr. Tyson's story. It is clear to me that he can no longer effectively serve the people of Virginia as Lieutenant Governor.

But the newest claim, combined with the allegation made earlier this week, quickly led to calls for Fairfax to step down.

Many Democrats who had carefully withheld judgment after the first accusation against Fairfax, saying the matter needed to be investigated, immediately turned against him. Northam then used a freaky news conference on Saturday to take back his admission that he was in the photo, but to admit that he had appeared in blackface at another time.

The Smith Mullin statement said the alleged attack on Watson "was premeditated and aggressive", while also saying Fairfax and Watson "were friends but never dated or had any romantic relationship".

"Virginians will resolve their issues", US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the nation's top elected Democrat, told reporters yesterday.

The Associated Press reported on Friday that Northam said he would not resign.

Smith said that Fairfax used this previous encounter against her in Fairfax and Watson's only interaction after the alleged rape.

"I can not believe, given my obvious distress, that Mr. Fairfax thought this forced sexual act was consensual".

"On behalf of our client, we have notified Justin Fairfax through his attorneys that Ms. Watson hopes he will resign from public office".

The announcement comes at the end of an unprecedented week in Virginia history that has seen the state's three top Democrats embroiled in potentially career-ending scandals.

Virginia soon slid deeper into crisis on Wednesday, when Attorney General Mark Herring acknowledged wearing blackface at a college party in 1980, and Fairfax was publicly accused of sexual assault for the first time.

Last week, the conservative news site Big League Politics published a photo from Northam's medical school yearbook showing two men, one who was dressed in blackface and another dressed in a Ku Klux Klan robe.
