‘Young and the Restless’ star Kristoff St. John found dead in home

The soap star was found inside him home in San Fernando Valley on Sunday. Police and paramedics were called, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to TMZ, there were no signs of foul play.

John - the son of actor Christopher St. John - entered the industry at a young age. He also won the NAACP Image Award for actor in a daytime drama multiple years.

At the time of his death, St. John was engaged to the model, Kseniya Olegovna Mikhaleva, and he announced the news on Instagram back in September using the ring he purchased for her as a prop.

In 2015, St. John spoke with "Entertainment Tonight" about the death of his 24-year-old son Julian St. John.

Also among the first to pay their respects to the star was Community actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who said the news had left her heartbroken. "It begins on the day your child passes, and ends the day the parent joins them", one person wrote on Twitter.

St. John, seen accepting the supporting actor trophy at the 2008 Daytime Emmy Awards, had played Neil Winters on the CBS soap The Young and the Restless since 1991.

Shemar Moore, who gained fame playing St. John's half-sibling on Y&R, posted a video, saying, "I lost my brother". As Mia and Kristoff worked through what happened, both reached out on social media to tell their story.

Mia St. John, who created the El Sabor es Poder (Knowledge is Power) Foundation to raise awareness about mental illness in honor of their son, reportedly reacted to the actor's death in a since-deleted tweet.

CBS Television Network and Sony Pictures Television released a joint statement about his death. The text included multiple broken heart and crying emojis.

According to TMZ, Kristoff allegedly threatened to take his own life in 2017 and was placed in a 72-hour psychiatric hold by authorities. 'Kristoff was pure & so kind.
