Porzingis tells Knicks fans NY 'deserves better than that'

The All-Star forward was traded to the Mavericks on Thursday in a surprising deal that sent Dennis Smith Jr, Wesley Matthews, DeAndre Jordan and two future first-round picks to NY.

Porzingis, 23, responded with a laugh.

A reporter asked Porzingis whether or not it was true he'd re-sign with Dallas, prompting Cuban to again take the mic. Porzingis added that he and Cuban are "on the same page" regarding his future contract.

"I don't know if the organization wants to hear (the chants) every game because it's a little embarrassing", said Kanter. "And I think Frank is comfortable playing with the ball or without the ball in his hands". "I think about basketball 24/7, and I really see us being very special on the court and fun to watch, so I'm excited about it". If the Knicks can land some big-time stars this summer, trading Porzingis will be viewed in a more positive light, but for now, the move smacks of desperation and further incompetence from James Dolan and his staff. "Unless it's something that we don't expect pops up, hopefully he'll be a Maverick for the next 20 years".

Departing Knicks player Tim Hardaway Jr. got a sweet farewell from a favorite restaurant, we're told. "That's obviously a lot of what this deal is all about". Still, the trade seemingly came out of nowhere after a meeting between Knicks brass and Porzingis and his agent on Thursday. The Knicks did contact the New Orleans Pelicans about a potential deal involving Porzingis and disgruntled Pelicans forward Anthony Davis, but here was uncertainty about Porzingis' desire to play with the Pelicans long-term.

Porzingis said he's well ahead of schedule rehabbing the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, but he will not play this season.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has a plan. "There's no rush. I've been patient this whole time, and I'm going to keep staying patient, which is one of the hardest things for me to do".

The Knicks have been losing for years and has made bad decision after bad decision. "So while the Knicks could have fielded more offers for Porzingis - possibly increasing their return in the process - the transaction with Dallas seemingly accomplished their objective".

Yup. KP wants to just focus on what's ahead and not look back into the past.
