Pelosi: ‘There’s Not Going to Be Any Wall Money’ in Spending Bill

A group of Republicans and Democrats from both chambers of Congress is working together to write a Homeland Security spending bill for the year that would include money for border security.

But then she was pushed on whether that applies to a deal that includes border security. Trump has signaled that a peace deal would allow the United States to withdraw troops from Afghanistan after 17 years of war triggered by the September 11, 2001, attacks.

"We're building the wall now", Trump said. It also showed that Democrats see no reason to let Trump claim a win in a cause that stirs his hard-right voters and enrages liberals.

A 56 percent majority of all Americans say they would "definitely not vote for" Trump should he become the nominee, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

"We're in a very strong legal standing - we are doing it regardless".

What's more, it would restrict any remaining unobligated funds from being used to build "physical barriers" in certain areas near wildlife refuges and historical parks. "We haven't declared the national emergency yet, but we're building the wall".

If Trump does declare a national emergency, Democrats who don't want any money for a border wall will probably immediately challenge Trump in court.

"We're going to move forward, and I think that we should", she said.

The Democratic measure, totaling nearly $22 billion for U.S. Customs, the border patrol, and immigration agents, would significantly increase spending for scanners at ports of entry, humanitarian aid for apprehended migrants, and new aircraft to police the U.S. -Mexico border.

The comparable figure in the Senate Republicans' proposal, backed by Trump, is $55.1 billion, with $5.56 billion of that designated as an emergency for border security to get around spending caps. I knew he wanted at all to himself. Pelosi said that effectively means that an agreement would need to be in hand by February 8 to allow time to draft bill text and move it through both chambers.
