Celtics don't think Kyrie goes LA, report says

Irving and James won an NBA Championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 together, before Irving requested a trade in 2017, and James left in free agency in the summer of 2018.

The Celtics haven't changed their feelings on Irving, and they consider him part of their long-term core; and Irving hasn't informed the team that his feelings have changed, multiple sources said. "'That is for real, ' the source said". The Warriors beat the Lakers by 130-111 just a couple of weeks ago and I think they bounce back from their rare loss on Thursday with a statement win at home. As a free agent at the end of the season, Irving might be really interested in joining the Lakers if they have both James and Davis.

If Irving were traded, it wouldn't be the first time in his career.

The Celtics can't trade for Davis until after this season - unless they trade Kyrie Irving? - but it's fairly obvious Boston plans to make a strong push for the Pelicans superstar if New Orleans doesn't deal him before the February 7 National Basketball Association trade deadline. Danny Ainge doesn't sound too concerned about the issue.

When questioned Friday by reporters about his future with the Celtics, Irving replied, "Ask me July 1".

For U.S.-China trade talks, hopes are high, expectations low
In a sign the sides are hopeful of making progress, the Harvard-trained Liu is due to meet Trump during this week's talks. The president seemed optimistic the two-day meeting would help de-escalate the trade dispute between the two countries.

U.S. hits 'corrupt' Venezuela oil firm PDVSA with sanctions
The disputed president Nicolás Maduro is still clinging on to power and has broken diplomatic ties with the USA government. Mnuchin says USA consumers should not expect to see higher prices at gas stations if the sanctions are not called off.

Davis Sr. clarified that those opinions were his, and did not reflect how his son felt about the Celtics.

The Celtics are now precluded from trading for Davis because they've already traded for Irving, and teams are forbidden from trading for two players with designated player contracts.

"The source added that Irving could change his mind before July 1, but added that if he does, it nearly certainly would not be to reunite with LeBron James, calling that notion a joke", the report read.

Irving told fans before the season he would be open to re-signing with Boston, but when the report came out recently that Irving would be open to reuniting with James, those same fans were understandably perturbed. It seems New Orleans might be content to wait on Boston to be able to make an offer, but that offer wouldn't have to wait until summer if Irving was moved. The Celtics have been rumored to be interested in acquiring the center for a while.
