He claimed the United Kingdom faces three options - a Canada-style hard Brexit, a soft Brexit in the form of a Norway-style deal, or putting the question again to the British population. But he repeated his own condition for talks: a pledge to block a no-deal Brexit.

House of Commons speaker Andrea Leadsom confirmed the date this morning, saying MPs will debate the new plan as May sets out her next steps towards Brexit.

During the trust vote, Conservative rebels and the 10-member Democratic Unionist Party who voted against the agreement on Tuesday voted in support of May.

"The prime minister has offered to open talks with opposition parties, however, I have been absolutely clear that any starting point for talks about breaking the Brexit deadlock must be on the provision that the threat of a disastrous "no deal" outcome is ruled out", he said.

Prime Minister Edouard Philippe told reporters on Thursday that there were "strong fears" Britain would leave without a deal on March 29.

During his speech, Mr Corbyn described the prime minister's Brexit deal - which was overwhelmingly rejected by MPs this week - as "dead" and that "there can now be no question of tweaks or sweeteners from Brussels to bring it back to life".

The United Kingdom and Ireland are now part of the same European Union economy and the border between Northern Ireland, which is part of the U.K., and the Republic of Ireland is practically invisible.

Investors appeared to shrug off both the rejection of May's deal and welcomed the survival of her government. "She stands by those principles".

Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic - as well as a close relationship with its single market and greater protections for workers and consumers.

Company chiefs are aghast at the political crisis over Brexit and say it has already damaged Britain's reputation as Europe's preeminent destination for foreign investment.

"It is going to leave us poorer, with less opportunities and that is why we do not think it is good enough for our future".
