Roberto Bautista Agut didn't waste his win over Novak Djokovic as he won the Qatar Open by beating Tomas Berdych 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the final on Saturday.

It was only the second time the 30-year-old has beaten Djokovic, across nine matches, and he was clearly delighted with the victory.

Bautista Agut wins the semifinals three-set epic match, going 3-6 7-6 (8-6) 6-4. Novak was up and it was really tough.

"He's definitely one of the greatest hitters in the game and I wish him all the best for the rest of the season". "He has a very physical style of Tennis which obviously is putting a lot of load and pressure on his joints, on his knees".

Djokovic needed a decider to overcome Marton Fucsovics on Wednesday after dropping the opener and he was broken twice early on in the first set as Basilashvili took charge.

Unlike many Spanish players who tend to favour clay, Bautista Agut is more suited to hard courts like Doha because he is a counter attacking player who plays lower, flatter shots, and does not rely so much on bounce or spin.

When Bautista Agut broke back for 4-4, the Serbian was furious and lashed out.
