While in previous years Samsung would unveil smartphone innovations with the help of the next Galaxy S or Note model, that's no longer the case for the electronics manufacturer.

Samsung is also working on a new smartphone series - Galaxy M Series. The new smartphone will be named as Samsung Galaxy A50. Earlier reports revealed that the phone will come with 5,000 mAh battery.

Samsung's Galaxy A50 smartphone is also expected to come with wireless charging as well as an in-display fingerprint scanner, as the company has said that it plans to bring the two technologies to its mid-tier devices. The report doesn't mention any details about the other camera sensors on the back. The device will be powered by Samsung's Exynos 7 9610 chipset, an octa-core processor with four Cortex-A73 cores and four A53s. Moreover, the phone will have 4GB of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy A50 is expected to launch running on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box based on its own One UI. The in-display fingerprint sensor might be an optical one instead of the ultrasonic variety reportedly being used in the company's next-generation flagship, Galaxy S10. Nonetheless, reports say that Samsung will announce the Galaxy A50 in the first half of 2019, and more information about the device will become available as the launch date draws near.
