Tennis Perth Roger Federer cruises to win at Hopman Cup

The most anticipated match of the eight-team tournament is scheduled for Tuesday when Switzerland's Roger Federer and Belinda Bencic play Americans Serena Williams and Frances Tiafoe.

Williams has already declared her intent to get a selfie with Federer to post on Instagram.

Roger Federer lost only two games against Cameron Norrie.

Favourites Germany, who were runners-up to Switzerland past year, were worked hard in two three-set singles matches, before completing a fine day's work 4-2 4-3 (5-3) in the doubles.

Federer made an impressive start in preparation for his Australian Open title defence with a seemingly effortless 6-1, 6-1 victory over Cameron Norrie on Sunday.

"I was very happy that I was able to come out tonight and put in a good performance", Federer said.
