India's captain Virat Kohli, who warmed up for the first Test that begins on December 6 with a half-century against a Cricket Australia XI here, was India's highest scorer on their last Test tour to the country in 2014-15 and is likely to pose a big threat to the Australian bowlers again. Kohli said in a chat with Private Sports Radio channel. Paine's batting lineup has been rated the worst Australia has ever assembled in Tests by local media, so the bowlers could well be under pressure to defend some modest totals.

Waugh's long-time team-mate Adam Gilchrist also singled out Kohli as the batsman India will rely heavily on.

Kohli made 286 in three South Africa Tests but India lost the series 2-1 while the world's top Test side went down to England 4-1 despite the captain's 593 runs in five matches.

He is, though, against matches in the 141-year-old format being reduced to a maximum of four days from five to make them more attractive - England are playing a four-day match against Test newcomers Ireland in July. "KL Rahul for one has some good memories of Australia, after his century on the last tour".

"We got what we wanted in the practice game and the trainer and the physio have been monitoring the workload".

Prithvi Shaw has taken the news that he will miss India's first Test against Australia "pretty hard", according to team-mate Ravichandran Ashwin. "So while there is no doubt this is India's best chance to win in Australia, it's still incredibly challenging to be able to win away", Watson was quoted as saying in India Today. As for sledging, I can not say what happens when we start off playing the first Test. Australian batsman Nielsen also appreciated Kohli after the wicket, Nielsen tapped Kohli's shoulder.

India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara says star spinner Ravi Ashwin has made changes he believes will help him finally enjoy success in Australia in the four-test series starting in Adelaide on Thursday.

"Hopefully the boys get him under control", said Head. "As a bowling unit we are very confident and the bowlers will stick to their basics". I can't say what their gameplan is, but they know what line and lengths to bowl in Australia, and majority have played here in 2014-15. "So it'll be an exciting week, a challenging week facing them, but a couple of days of training and we'll be ready to go".
