LSU Gives Premature Gatorade Bath, Texas A&M Ties Game

With seven overtimes, Texas A&M-LSU tied the record for longest game in FBS history with Arkansas-Ole Miss in 2001, Arkansas-Kentucky in 2003, North Texas-FIU in 2006 and Buffalo-Western Michigan past year.

Nearly two hours after LSU dumped Gatorade on their coach in premature celebration, the Texas A&M Aggies prevailed, 74-72. Texas A&M and LSU ended up trading touchdowns and field goals over the next 90 minutes before Texas A&M finally won the game with a two-point conversion in the seventh extra stanza.

The San Antonio, Texas, native distributed the ball evenly as three Aggie wide receivers recorded multiple touchdowns for the first time in program history.

Mond would then make a huge conversion with a 20-yard pass on fourth down and 18 yards to go. The Aggies were driving while down 31-24 and needed a touchdown to force overtime, and after getting into LSU territory, the team was able to stop the clock with one second left.
