India bowl; Krunal and Khaleel handed T20I debuts

Wicketkeeper-batsmen Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik have been named in the 12-man squad but the Delhi Daredevils youngster, who had set Indian Premier League 2018 on fire, is all set to don the gloves.

Having dominated West Indies in two formats - the Tests and ODIs - India is up against a perceived giant as the format shrinks to T20Is.

Besides leading India to their maiden and only T20 World Cup triumph in 2007, Dhoni is also the most capped player in the shortest format, featuring in 93 of India's 104 matches.

The West Indies team after losing the ODI series 3-1, have called all their big stalwarts for the T20 series.

The Indian team management on Saturday named the 12-member team for the opening Twenty20 worldwide at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday. With Virat Kohli's absence, Rohit Sharma would be leading the side against the Windies.

A release from the BCCI announced the starting 12 for the first T20I against Windies at Eden Gardens, which includes Krunal Pandya, who could well make his global debut.
