Saudis Come Close to Admitting Khashoggi's Murder Was Planned

Khashoggi's eldest son, Salah, and his family arrived on Thursday in Washington on a flight from Saudi Arabia, according to two sources close to the family.

According to Turkish authorities, based on the evidence Saudi operatives had tortured, murdered, and dismembered Khashoggi at the monarchy's consulate in Istanbul.

The foreign ministry statement didn't say why prosecutors now believed the killing was planned, but obtained the information with the co-operation of Turkish officials.

A columnist for The Washington Post, Khashoggi was last seen on October 2 when he entered the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul.

Saudi Arabia initially insisted Khashoggi had walked out of the consulate after visiting the building on October 2.

Saudi King Salman and Prince Mohammed met Salah and Khashoggi's brother Sahel at the royal palace in Riyadh on Tuesday. Cavusoglu said Turkey had no intention of taking the Khashoggi case to an worldwide court but would share information if an global inquiry were launched.
