Cowboys Trade for Amari Cooper

While the compensation was much better than most expected, it now seems that the downtrodden Raiders are going into fire-sale mode ahead of the October 30 trade deadline. And Cowboys receivers haven't made many big plays in their first season without Bryant and retired tight end Jason Witten, the club leader in catches. Cooper has battled drops, injuries, and mental lapses over the last two years, and Oakland's regime clearly didn't see him as a fit in its future plans. Given that the Raiders have already traded their two best players in Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper, everyone seems to be on the block.

Cooper was the third receiver started his career with back-to-back seasons with 1,000 yards receiving and 70 catches, following Odell Beckham Jr. and Marques Colston but has been unable to build on that success the past two years. After all, the Raiders find themselves playing from behind a fair amount and this should equate to even more looks for Nelson.

Let's hope Cooper can improve upon his current stat line of 22 receptions for 280 yards and one touchdown so far this year.
