Ready for a rather mesmerizing first look at Joaquin Phoenix in the Joker movie?

Joaquin Phoenix is Arthur Fleck in the first official image of the actor from the set of Joker.

What this picture really demonstrates is not just that Phillips' film is an origin story of sorts - though it does do that - but that it'll strike a tone entirely different to Joker-starring films past. He boops him. It's cute.

Phoenix will be joined by Zazie Beetz and Robert DeNiro, however contrary to previous reports, Alec Baldwin has not signed on to play Batman's father in the film.

He's a great champion. "So I'm glad for him". "It will be in my heart for the rest of my life", Del Potro said. Djokovic continued a remarkable summer after missing the end of last season with a right elbow injury.

Phillips posted a photo of Phoenix sans Joker makeup with the caption "Arthur", which is presumably his name before he dons the creepy smile. And sure, in all likelihood, yes, he's Gotham City's so-called Clown Prince of Crime. With a $55 million budget, the current consensus is that the film will be more of a character study than a blockbuster action flick.

It comes during a time when DC Films has still struggled to get its shared cinematic universe off the ground and instead perhaps harkens back to the Nolan and early Snyder days of "filmmaker-centric" takes on these iconic characters. The Joker movie is set to be released on October 4, 2019. Maybe Phoenix will be dropped into a Value-Added Tax of acid or something late in the film, but for the most part, it looks like we'll be examining a real human being, stripped of supervillainous accoutrements.
