Pogba, who was a world-record signing when he returned to Manchester United for €105 million in 2016, seems to have had his head turned by Barcelona's intention to sign him.

The Daily Mail says United are keen to offer him a new contract, with his current terms expiring in 2020, but Rashford has been reluctant to put pen to paper.

I still have a contract, I'm playing there at the moment, but who knows what will happen in the near future.

Pogba suggested this week that his future at United remains uncertain, but he has since shrugged off the persistent rumours about a future in La Liga.

Manchester United are suffering from their incompetence in the transfer market this summer.

The recent toning down of Mourinho's language towards Pogba is perhaps a sign of his realisation that there can only be one victor in what has become a two-way battle of egos.

Since then, Pogba is deemed to have called a truce with Mourinho to stay put for the season but ESPN reports that the Frenchman could push for an exit next summer, should Barcelona revive their interest.

Cantona has previously said he would prefer Manchester City boss Guardiola to be in charge, and the 52-year-old has now volunteered his own services to help close the gap between the two rival clubs.

"They will win things, I know they will".

City and United are massive clubs, and working with Pep Guardiola or Mourinho could be too tempting for the 21-year-old to resist.

Recently there has been a lot of speculation of Pogba wanting to leave Manchester United due to his relationship with the coach Jose Mourinho.

United have lost two of their four league games this season, already sitting six points behind the early pace-setters, and chaos in the press has ensued. "I always give everything for United - I can not say more".
