China slams 'irresponsible' Trump accusations over North Korea

But China and Russian Federation have argued that North Korea should be rewarded with the prospect of eased sanctions for opening up dialogue with the USA and halting missile tests.

According to the South Korean Foreign Ministry, Kang called the cancellation "regrettable" while Pompeo reaffirmed the US position that it will continue to solidify South Korea-US cooperation.

China also has been allowing more Chinese tourists to visit North Korea this year as relations between the two countries have improved significantly.

"I have confidence that Kim Jong Un will honor the contract we signed &, even more importantly, our handshake".

Some analysts suggest Trump's move may be a negotiating ploy.
