Aretha Franklin's family confirm she is "seriously ill"

Jackson was originally scheduled to visit Tuesday but later rescheduled for Wednesday.

When the news broke a couple of days ago that Aretha Franklin was battling an illness from which she might not recover, her fans all across the world joined together to pay tribute in whichever way they could.

At the time, her management team issued a statement, saying her doctor had suggested she stay off the stage for two months and rest, and that she was "extremely disappointed she can not perform as she had expected and hoped to".

Last year Franklin announced her plans to retire from touring in February 2017, so that she could more time with family.

Even without a lineup, the roster of potential hits that the artists could cover is impressive, including: "Respect", "Rock Steady", "Think", "Natural Woman", "Chain of Fools", "I Say a Little Prayer", "I Knew You Were Waiting", "Ain't No Way", "Since You've Been Gone" and "Freeway of Love" among many others.
