The audio was released as Manigault Newman gears up for the release of her new book, "Unhinged: An Insider Account of the Trump White House", which contains several unflattering claims against the President and his staff. Omarosa claims to have multiple recordings of her time in the White House, but numerous claims she has made are unverifiable.

White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said Monday: "I'm not going to get into the tick tock of who knew what when, but the president makes the decisions". "She never made it, never will", Trump tweeted, referring to her appearances on his old reality television program. "She begged me for a job, tears in her eyes, I said Ok".

Trump was responding to a question from New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman about Manigault Newman's tell-all memoir that was announced this week.

Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, called Manigault Newman's recording "wildly inappropriate" and suggested she may have violated the law.

Manigault Newman's book, Unhinged, characterises the U.S. president as a bigot, sexist and racist who she claims has been caught on mic using the N-word multiple times.

Still, she wasn't sharing details about how she taped Kelly. The Department of Justice could take steps to prosecute her for that, too, but so far the recordings themselves have been merely embarrassing, not revelatory of national-security secrets.

Omarosa made the shock reveal on Meet the Press WHAT CHANNEL on Sunday, where a clip of the covert recording was played.

"General Kelly came to me and said that you guys want me to leave", she said. The White House Situation Room is one of the most secure locations on the planet.

A former National Security Council spokesperson called it "unprecedented" and a serious breach of protocol. "Not only is it not typical, something like this is unprecedented".

Price said there is no one checking staffers for devices at the door, but there is a sign outside the room making clear that electronic devices are prohibited.

GOP Congressman Chris Collins Arrested, to Be Indicted on Insider Trading Charges
The trial results were made public a week later, with Innate stock losing 92 per cent of its value in off-exchange trading. This is not the first time the congressman's involvement with Innate has attracted scrutiny.

No White House official offered an explanation for why Manigault Newman was hired in the first place if people had such concerns about her.

"I have heard the tape", she said, adding that three sources she talked to for her book relayed the same story. "It's a threat. He went on to say that, 'Things could get ugly you.' ..."

Manigault Newman served as the White House director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison from January to mid-December of 2017 but has been unsparing in her criticism of the president since her departure.

Other than by media osmosis, I have no idea who Omarosa Manigault Newman is.

Tweeting on Monday, Mr Trump said his former Apprentice co-star had only started to attack him after she lost her job.

"I have documentation, a whole treasure-trove of documentation for everything you see in this book", she said.

Ms. Manigault Newman explained that as a whistleblower, she is not anxious about any legal ramifications.

NBC News and other outlets reported at the time that Newman had been escorted out of the White House after she tried to enter the presidential residence in response to hearing she'd been fired.

The White House has said her claims about his language are false.

"Because Donald Trump talks about everyone behind their backs".
