The respective valuations has increased confidence at Liverpool that the 25-year-old will be their new first choice goalkeeper next season.

Liverpool fans are so desperate for Brazilian custodian Alisson Becker to sign for their beloved Reds, that they started celebrating when Alison Becker confirmed the news of the transfer on Twitter.

As reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Klopp has spoken to the 25-year-old on the telephone, presumably to give him various assurances and perhaps a little nudge to sign for Liverpool.

He has a year left on his contract and is wanted by Real Madrid.

According to the Echo, Liverpool have "received sufficient encouragement from Alisson and his representatives" that the player was open to a switch to Anfield and that prompted the club to table the bid to the Italian outfit.

The Blues are in the market for another goalkeeper amid intense speculation linking Thibaut Courtois with a move to Real Madrid and Alisson has been identified as a possible replacement for the Belgian global.

Another Brazil global in Liverpool's sights is midfielder Bernard, who is also wanted by Arsenal and Everton.

Liverpool's pre-season is already underway, with regular keeper Loris Karius featuring in their friendly games, but the German is known to be error-prone.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has been fighting for a transfer away from Italy this summer and has attracted the attention of Real Madrid and Chelsea. He was named in last season's UEFA Champions League squad of the season.

The newspaper says Roma are yet to respond to Liverpool's opening bid but although they are holding out for a fee closer to £66m, an agreement is close to be finalised over what would be a world-record deal for a goalkeeper.
