Filipino legend Manny Pacquiao weighed in Saturday comfortably under the 147-pound (67-kilogramme) limit and said he was "ready" to win back the welterweight belt against WBA champion Lucas Matthysse of Argentina.

Young-again Manny Pacquiao was in ebullient form Sunday after he leapt back into the global boxing spotlight with a seven-round knockout of WBA welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse. We were not pushing hard, we controlled our pace and ourselves.

"I've already spoke to the prime minister and the equipment we used in Kuala Lumpur for this training will be donated to the government".

A shell-shocked Matthysse had come in with a record of 36 knockouts in 39 wins with just four defeats.

Unable to gain a foothold against Pacquiao's swarming attacks, Matthysse (39-5-1) looked to land on the counter but was forced to take a knee towards the end of the fifth round when he was visibly shaken by a right hook to the temple.

"You can not say I'm 39 years old!"

Matthysse suffered a fractured left eye socket after taking a beating from Postol that put him out of boxing for 19 months and this is only his third fight since.
