How Can Migrant Children Be Reunited With Families?

Democratic lawmakers on Saturday said they aren't convinced the Trump administration had any real plan to reunite immigrant families caught along the southwest border, while demonstrators gathered to protest the separation of parents from their children by US border authorities.

Events planned include a rally Saturday in Fort Worth, where the Texas Democratic Convention is being held, and a protest in Homestead, Florida. Demonstrators marched in San Diego carrying signs reading "Free the Kids" and "Keep Families Together" and in other California cities.

After the lawmakers left, dozens of immigrant rights demonstrators temporarily blocked a bus carrying immigrants from leaving the facility, and shouted "Shame!" The delay pushes many to cross the border illegally, activists say.

"These are the American citizens permanently separated from their loved ones". "This is not something that's OK in America today".

Tania Chavez, an unauthorized immigrant who lives in the area and came to the a 14-year-old, said she would fast for the migrant children.
