Trump to GOP: Stop 'Wasting' Time on Immigration

Shares in private prison operators CoreCivic Inc and Geo Group rose on Friday as investors bet on increasing demand for their services after USA authorities asked about available capacity for the detention of immigrant families.

But a spokeswoman for the US Department of Justice said the report was inaccurate. Got to have a safe country. And he also has no interest in undermining President Trump's claim that the White House would love to help Dreamers but those rascally Democrats are standing in the way.

President Donald Trump explicitly compared the tragedy of families whose relatives have been killed by undocumented immigrants to the family separations at the border, saying that the "angel families" are "permanently separated" from their family members.

Trump, in his remarks, also suggested those illegally in the United States commit more crimes on a statistical basis than citizens or resident aliens.

An executive order signed by Donald Trump to stop children being separated from their families at the USA border has caused confusion among officials attempting to maintain the president's "zero-tolerance" immigration policy.

His administration's tough "zero tolerance" policies seeking prosecution for all illegal border crossers spurred bipartisan outrage this week, as images and accounts emerged of families being separated as a result.

The president has bitterly blamed Democrats for the separations, and the media for the negative reaction to his policy. He was referring to a Getty Images picture of a Honduran toddler at the border, sobbing as her mother was searched and detained.

Other immigrants who remained locked up and separated from their families struggled to stay in touch with children who are in many cases hundreds of kilometres apart.

Thousands of children are being separated from their parents coming into the country at the U.S. -Mexico border, and some of them are coming to the Midwest.

Delsy Guadalupe Serrano Torres, who goes by "Lupe", and her son Danny, 8, have been separated since the two were apprehended crossing the border in mid-May.

He focused on the fact that young migrants separated from parents are likely to be reunited, unlike the victims of murders. "Dems should join POTUS and fix our broken immigration system", she wrote.

Little Follow-Up From North Korea on Summit Promises
Seoul's Defense Ministry said Friday that Defense Minister Song Young-moo held "deep" discussions about the drills with U.S. As for subsequent military drills, the spokesperson said, "We are still coordinating additional actions".

The girl in this photo, which was used for this week's cover of Time magazine, quickly became symbolic of the family separation crisis at the USA southern border.

The magazine on Friday issued a correction, noting that the original version of the story misstated that the girl had been carried away by Border Patrol agents.

She said she will go back Monday and try again. Associated Press/Evan Vucci Trump has frequently used parents such as Laura Wilkerson to bolster his arguments for a border wall and against so-called "sanctuary cities", where law-enforcement agencies limit their cooperation with immigration authorities.

All 435 seats in the House and a third of the 100-member Senate will be contested in the November election.

In a scathing rebuke of both President Donald Trump and the current GOP party published by The Washington Post on Friday, the former Fox News contributor said "the carnage of Republican misrule in Washington" and the "family-shredding" policy on the nation's southern border has provided the evidence needed for moderate Republicans and independents to vote against the GOP based on one principle.

Republican leaders have struggled to rally support for a broad bill created to unite GOP moderates and conservatives, postponing a vote twice in the face of opposition.

Earlier in the week, the president had called for Congress to quickly approve sweeping immigration legislation.

Meanwhile, in yet another abrupt reversal by the president, Trump on Friday told fellow Republicans in Congress to "stop wasting their time" on immigration legislation until after the November elections.

He had said only Congress could solve the problem, before doing an about-face and issuing the executive order under pressure from his wife and eldest daughter.

"What is the goal of the House doing good immigration bills when you need 9 votes by Democrats in the Senate, and the Dems are only looking to Obstruct (which they feel is good for them in the Mid-Terms)", Trump wrote.
