Competition will be stiff for The Incredibles in the U.S. next week, as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom finally opens in America.

Disney has asked all movie theaters showing the long-awaited "Incredibles 2" to include a strobe light warning for people with epilepsy after viewers voiced their concern on social media about certain scenes, Variety reports.

Thanks to a massive $180m opening weekend (via Box Office Mojo), the sequel has also pushed Captain America: Civil War out of the top five of superhero movie openings, against a predicted $150m weekend haul.

The Incredibles 2 grossed an estimated $180 million over the weekend, handily topping the previous record-holder, Finding Dory, which launched with $135 million in 2016.

Fellow Pixar sequel Finding Dory now holds the title with $135 million.

The sequel raked in $71.5 million from 4,410 theaters on Friday (a total that includes the record $18.5 million from Thursday), which makes it the 14th biggest opening day in history.
