One of our most anticipated games of 2018 will no longer be making an appearance in 2018.

"The story starts in Moscow and you play as Artyom and it picks up from Metro: Last Light's enlightened ending", executive producer John Bloch said at the game's announcement at E3 past year. They note that since this is the most ambitious Metro game in the series - and that they want it to be the best that it can be - they made a decision to move the release date back by a couple of quarters.

The report states that THQ Nordic is "looking forward to Deep Silver's next key release, Metro Exodus, now expected in Q1 2019".

"The development of 'Metro Exodus' is progressing well; we are all really excited by what we are seeing", the developers wrote on the official website.

The Final 'Gotham' Season Will Focus on Bruce Wayne's Transformation Into Batman

New encryption vulnerability means email is no longer secure
The first method will directly send the decrypted information to the attacker by exploiting how images are embedded into emails. The EFAIL attacks exploit vulnerabilities in the OpenPGP and S/MIME standards to reveal the plaintext of encrypted emails.

The Metro games are based on a series of novels published by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky. They'll need it too, considering Exodus is an open-world game instead of the linear adventures that Last Light and 2033 were. Next month's E3 conference will see a brand-new Metro Exodus gameplay trailer unveiled.

THQ Nordic gave no explanation for the delay, but with the reported size of the game, it wouldn't be surprising to hear that it simply just needed more time in the oven.

The news comes as the publisher revealed its latest financial results, which also failed to provide release dates for Darksiders 3 and Biomutant. Though no specific reason was given, THQ announced that Exodus would now launch sometime in Q1 2019.
